A great company that understands building envelope. We had a stucco repair and chimney repair project on an old property we recently purchased in Toronto. They came in, replaced bricks, did the tuck pointing, and repairs the one wall that was a stucco EIFS application. They also did Parging as well. These are the before pictures.

The process involves applying a scratch-coat base directly on the brick to ensure a strong bond, installing vertically-notched EPS foam panels, rasping and levelling the surface, applying two layers of fibreglass mesh-embedded basecoat, and finishing with your chosen acrylic texture coat. Alasya Construction has been doing stucco-over-brick retrofits for over 15 years using premium materials from DuRock, Alfacing, and Durabond — the same top-tier suppliers we’ve worked with since our founding as a dedicated stucco contractor.

Toronto homeowners have a wide range of EIFS and acrylic stucco finishes to choose from, including smooth, sand, dash, and fine marble textures. We recommend Marble Fine as our top finish — it hides imperfections naturally, ages beautifully, and delivers the elegant, high-end look most clients are after. Our trusted suppliers — DuRock Alfacing, Durabond, and STO — each offer equivalent premium finishes under their own product lines. As part of every project, we provide a full design consultation including colour selection, moulding design, and flashing guidance at no extra cost. The finish can also be painted using elastomeric exterior paint for added protection or a colour refresh years down the line.

Reveal joints are one of those details that separate a quality EIFS installation from an average one — and it’s exactly the kind of knowledge that comes from 15+ years in the field. Reveal joints are V- or U-shaped grooves cut into the EPS foam layer to divide large wall sections, controlling where any minor cracking occurs and ensuring it happens at a planned joint rather than randomly across the facade. For a two-storey home of roughly 22 feet, we typically run at least one horizontal reveal joint, adjusted to align neatly with window and door corners for a clean, architectural look. Reveal joints can also be used purely as a design element to create a modern, panelled appearance. Whether you need them depends on your wall size, height, and aesthetic goals — something we assess during our free on-site consultation.

Stucco repair is a craft, and matching existing texture is where experience makes all the difference. Our repair process starts with cleaning and opening any cracks wider than they appear — this ensures the new material bonds properly to the old substrate rather than just sitting on top of it. Large cracks and holes are pre-filled and allowed to fully cure before the finish coat is applied. We then feather the outer edges of the repair coat to help it gradually blend into the surrounding surface — the same technique used in skilled plastering and painting work. A freshly repaired patch will appear slightly more vibrant initially, but it integrates naturally over time. We source matching materials directly from DuRock, Alfacing, and Durabond to ensure colour and texture consistency across the entire repair area.
